INCLUDING NATURE

We are seeing a continuing trend to bring nature into our homes. This brings serenity to our already busy lives. By including natural materials such as bamboo, earthenware, polished stones, to name a few, we can create environments that bring us closer to nature.

Some colors to incorporate could be rich chocolate, camel, and sand as volume colors. Accent colors would be black, fern, and taupe.

MAKING SMALL AREAS APPEAR LARGER

Don't forget the wonderful aspects of MIRRORS!. Mirrors at the end of a short, narrow hall can make that area look larger and longer. A mirrored wall in the dining room can almost double that space visually. A cluster of beautifully framed small mirrors looks stunning over a sofa.
Mirrored screens can add intrique in a corner. Experiment and see what you can create!

DEFINING SPACE

With all the new flooring materials available, area rugs are more popular than ever. In interior design, this has become a BIG area. The designs span from the Oriental look, which everyone is familiar with, to very contemporary looks.
Different weaves add varied looks for different areas in the home. Try some on your tile, marble, or wood floors. They can make real statement in your home design!
